WHO WE ARE

JOE ORIAZE IMHANWA FOUNDATION

Joe Oriaze Imhanwa Foundation, abbreviated as  J.O.I.Foundation  (a.k.a women of strength) is an NGO established in June 2016 to provide resources under communities to give hope and inspire widows and Single Mums who are women in Nigeria.

Our aim is to harness the potentials of widows and single Mums who are women that are vulnerable to become productive in the society through advocacy, capacity building, economic empowerment and spiritual development.
We focus on assisting the unemployed and unskilled widows / Single Mums that live below the poverty level to engage in income generating activities. The overall goal of J.O.I.Foundation is to as much as possible reduce financial stress to the barest minimum through the provision of need related financial assistance along with mentoring, counselling and guidance.

J.O.I IS CERTIFIED FOR OPERATIONS

Joe Oriaze Imhanwa Foundation ( Joifoundation) is duely certified for operations as an Non – Governmental Organisation by :

  • CAC – Certificate of Incorporation  ( Nationa level) – October 2016
  • W.A.P.A – Lagos State Ministry of Women and Poverty Alleviation – October 2019
  • SCUML ( EFCC) – January 2017.

J.OI.Foundation role is to: 
 
  • Harness the potentials of these widows / Single Mums to become productive in the community and society at large.
  • Provide financial assistance for their businesses to attain financial empowerment.
  • Engage them in skill acquisition through vocational training
  • Provide supervisory role, Mentoring and Financial guidance for start- up micro businesses.
  • Reduce their poverty status
  •  Engage in Bi – monthly entrepreneurial seminars, conferences and workshops for counselling while creating teams where these single parents can interact and bond

J.O.I Foundation is dedicated to the living memory of Mr Joseph Oriaze IMHANWA who was passionate about helping widows, Single Mums and the fatherless in his life time.


Joe IMHANWA died in active service as a manager with Union Bank of Nig .Plc . He was a Christian who was practical about living in Truth and integrity. He left behind his wife, Revd. Harriet IMHANWA and 4 Children.
