JOE ORIAZE IMHANWA FOUNDATION CHRISTMAS OUTREACH IN BENIN- CITY, EDO STATE
AJIFA MERCY OCHOLI
Mercy is a young girl (single mum) who had an accident of life by getting pregnant while in her secondary school. She had to drop out of school to nurse her son who is about 3years old now.
She was directed to J.O.I Foundation for help through her pastor. She came to ask that she desires to acquire skills in pastries after which she wants to work and pay her own school fees to university level.
After our field officer ascertained her claims, she went through the NGO’s due process and was empowered with her skill acquisition cheque in July 2020. She is expected to graduate from her skill acquisition in July 2021. After which, she will be empowered with the necessary baking equipment and materials needed to jump start her business. During the 2020 Christmas Party for our members, one of our partners, Rev. Dr Moses Agadagba, along with our field officer, Pastor John Macdonald, handed out our Christmas package (foodstuff and condiments) to our members on behalf of JOI Foundation as seen in the pictures.
Mercy has now graduated from the catering school with her certification as a Qualified Caterer. JOI Foundation upon the completion of her catering training program gave her a Dual powered Baking Oven (that uses Gas and Charcoal) with a 12.5kg gas cylinder to start up on her own. Her graduation ceremony was attended by JOIF Convener, Edo state chapter Staff and widows and also her fellow catering students & close family friends where she was duely celebrated.

EVARISTA ERHIMWINGBOVO
Evarista is a middle age widow with four (4) children. She is a petty trader who hawks water and drinks that she buys on credit daily.
At the end of the day, she returns the capital to her creditors and her profit she spends on her family upkeep.
She was directed to JOI Foundation by her Pastor. After her claims were ascertained, she was empowered with her own funds to continue her business while a big umbrella was purchased for her to shield her from the harsh sun and a wheel barrow to carry and make mobile her business goods. She was also a beneficiary of our 2020 Christmas package (foodstuff and condiments) to our members.
DUPE ODIA
Dupe is a middle-aged single mother of a son. She engages in roasting plantain by the roadside as her source of livelihood.
Her pastor introduced her to JOI Foundation. She needed to be empowered financially to enlarge her business in order to have enough funds to meet her basic needs. After our field officer ascertained her claims and passing through due process, she was recommended for empowerment. She was given a starter pack to upgrade her business through the purchase of plantain in bulk, making her a wholesale seller. By this singular act, she is able to increase her profit margin as a second source of income. As a member, she was also a beneficiary of our 2020 Christmas package (foodstuff and condiments).
